Meet The Designer
Krista Delgado
Founder of The Creative Clinician, Licensed therapist and private practice owner with 11 years of exp.
I am pivoting in new professional direction at this point . . . . and very excited to be launching a digital design and marketing company. The concept is marketing done by a therapist for fellow therapists. I am someone who understands the technical aspects, as well as the clinical components, to building an effective marketing strategy and thus a successful private practice.
I am a licensed LPC, and have been practicing in San Antonio, Texas. I have been in the clinical field for 11 years, and established my private practice 6 years ago. I am currently in discussions with an acquisition company regarding selling my practice. Being approached and asked about selling my practice was the catalyst that got me thinking about a professional pivot at this point in time.
In addition to running my own private practice and seeing clients I have been designing logos, consulting on digital and print marketing strategies, writing copy, and building websites on the side for friends and colleagues. And I discovered that I really enjoy the process of helping fellow therapists share their messages, stories, and point of view with the world.
Digital design was something I initially learned to do after applying to a digital media and communications arts specialized high school. In college, I then pursued this area of special interest further because of my passion and excitement about it. In grad school, when the possibilities of private practice were introduced, it further flamed the interest I had with digital design and communication principles - and so I continued to learn and grow this skillset as my therapy career took off.
The creative process of digital artwork and design, the process of writing copy for websites, and the technical aspects of website design are really fun in my opinion. I would love to help bridge the gap between the clinical, digital, marketing, and business worlds for fellow therapists.
The website I built for my private practice, along with targeted online and print marketing strategies, and SEO optimization lead to a successful cash rate only private practice that was turning profit within the first month. From the jump …. referrals were coming in steadily, there was a consistently full caseload and wait list, and a dependable income stream. This is the power of effective marketing.
The Process Flow (and what to expect if we decide to work together)
-
You reached out for support with starting (or growing) your practice...this is a really exciting first step.
We start with a 15-minute phone consultation. This allows us time to get a general outline of what you're looking for, and ensure that it's within my wheelhouse.
It gives us time to go over any questions you might have. As well as an opportunity for me to ask follow-up questions about your overarching big goals.
-
After the consultation call, I take the information provided and put together a budget estimate for your project.
I also provide an estimated timeline for when I can get started on your project. And an estimate of how much time I will need to complete the work once I am able to get started.
Once you have time to review the proposal and estimates, you can let me know if the proposal aligns with your personal budget and timelines. If so, then let's go....
-
The third step will depend on the contract option you select.
If you decide to have the work completed as a PROJECT-BASED CONTRACT, the work is completed all at once and asap.
Or you may elect to have a MONTHLY RETAINER CONTRACT (this might make more sense when the work should be completed over time for maximum benefit (as with SEO work, or for ongoing website maintenance services). This option also might make more sense for your budget, to complete the project slowly over time (and be billed monthly instead of all at once).
-
Now that we have reviewed your overall needs, you have the cost estimates and projected timelines in hand, and you have selected a project-based contract option .....
The first half of your payment is due to initiate the project and proceed. Once the upfront payment is completed, we will schedule a needs assessment to go over the granulars of your project.
This provides a lot more detail about your practice and the particulars of your project (to allow me to develop a more thorough project conceptualization and plan).
-
After the needs assessment and project conceptualization is complete, I will provide you with an action item list. This generally includes finding the items we will need for your project (headshot files, finding source files of copy for your website, etc).
I will take it from there and knock out your project work. I will let you know when I get started. Touch base every know and then to let you know how it's going and any other info that might be needed. I will reach out when I am an hour out from project completion, so that you have an opportunity to make any final edits. Et voila, the work is done.
The final step is completing payment within 7 days of project completion (half of the estimate is due upfront, and the remainder of your bill is due upon completion).
-
Now that we have reviewed your overall needs, you have the cost estimates and projected timelines in hand, and you have selected a monthly-retainer contract option .....
Depending on the type of work you would like to have done, we may do a needs assessment to go over the granulars of your project. And for certain types of projects, we do not need to do this. Upon discussion of your project goals, we will figure this out together.
If the project requires a needs assessment, we will complete that during the first month of your retainer contract. If not, then I can hit the ground running and starting taking care of your action items immediately.

Before I get started on your project, I will provide you with an action item list. This generally includes finding the items we will need for your project (headshot files, finding source files of copy for your website, etc).
I will take it from there and the work will be completed on a monthly basis, depending on the time duration you select for your contract. The bill will be sent monthly, and there is no upfront payment required.
